With over a decade of experience this young, enthusiastic stylist has a flare for hair and a passion for education. Shawn began his career at the Vidal Sassoon Academy, where he trained in London, England and California. He then was employed by the company in Yorkville, Toronto for several years. Shawn then went on to become an Education Director for world renowned, John Donato, where he trained over 100 stylists and became a session stylist, styling hair for commercials such as Pantene. Now he is the proud owner of a multi-award winning salon in Barrie, Ontario. By the time he reached 28 years old, Shawn had already been presented with the "The Spirit of Professionalism" and "Achievement" award by the City of Barrie. He has recently 'won' the Creative Cut & Colour Competition, and has been "Canadian Hairstylist of the year" nominee and finalist several times.
His most rewarding achievement, is that he recently became "Portfolio Artist for L'Oréal Professional", one of 25 in all of Canada. This allows him to travel the Country educating other stylists and teaching seminars.
Shawn's main focus is to service and educating his clients.
As co-owner of i.d. Studio, in Barrie, Ontario, Eric Guerlin is a force to be reckoned with. His passion and pursuit for the perfect cut every time has made him a known commodity. The secret is out… the big city has lost a true pro to Ontario's North Country. Eric is intense about his profession. His world-class training with Vidal Sassoon epitomizes the art of cutting with technical precision and a flair for style. Eric's extensive experience includes styling hair for Canada's biggest designers and creating their trends for spring summer and fall winter collections; styling for Fashion Cares, magazine photo shoots and working on television commercials for international hair care lines. A recognized leader in the industry, Eric operates on a high level. He has done platform work for Schwarzkopf and Wella in creating seasonal trends, has placed 1st in Ontario for L'Oréal Colour trophy, has been a finalist in Contessa, won outstanding achievement in the beauty industry and was voted Barrie's favourite hairdresser two years in a row. Eric is constantly learning the latest techniques in colour and cutting and brings new ideas to the area and most importantly to his clients. An educator and a trend setter, Eric has a true understanding of the importance of cutting and colour...his work never failing to turn heads.
Kristin is our Front Line Extraordinaire! She keeps operations running smoothly, and after being part of the team for six years, she knows all the guests by name! Guests are always being impressed with Kristin's beautiful smile, and her amazing attitude.
Laura has been an original i.d. member for almost eight years now! She has studied colour in Los Angeles, Toronto, and Barrie. She is trained in advanced colour with L'Oréal Professional, as well as corrective colour. Laura was a finalist for Makeover Colourist of the year for Contessa's in 2009, top 10 in Canada! She was also a semi-finalist for the Canadian Hairdresser Mirror Awards in 2009. Laura is a dedicated asset to our team, and an excellent example to our junior staff.
Barb is going on her seventh year at i.d. Studio. She has been the Hairapolooza Champion in 2002, 2007, and 2010. Barb has also been a finalist three times in National Photo Competitions, as well as participating in several cut and colour competitions.
Barb spent two years as an Ambassador for L'Oréal Professionnel, as well as furthering her education through several cut, colour and styling classes. Barb has participated in many photoshoots, and off site weddings as well as stagework at Fashion Focus.
Barb has also travelled to Los Angeles, CA to attend Colour V.S.A's as well as London, England to Salon Live, where she fulfilled a dream of meeting Vidal Sassoon.
Barb considers herself an original member of the i.d. family and enjoys volunteering with the rest of the team.
